Terra Food raises funds for business expansion

The proceeds will be used to enhance the brand's portfolio and invest in new food technologies.

India’s pioneering cloud kitchen venture, Terra Food (TFC), has successfully secured a substantial $800,000 in its Pre-Series A funding round, signaling a significant milestone in its mission to redefine the culinary landscape. The infusion of funds will serve as a powerful catalyst for TFC’s strategic expansion initiatives, propelling the company into an exciting phase of growth and innovation.

Esteemed investors, including Zero to One Fund, Twin & Bull Fund, ah! Ventures, and other visionary overseas backers, participated in this funding triumph. Notably, TFC’s existing supporters, such as Lets Venture, Faad Network, and The Chennai Angels, also showcased their confidence by joining forces in this funding endeavor.

Terra Food, led by its visionary founder Sriram Nair, has carved an impressive niche by focusing on Tier 2 markets, an approach that has translated into remarkable growth. At present, the company boasts a robust monthly order volume of 26,000, generating a recurring monthly revenue surpassing Rs10 million ($121,571).

In a recent statement, Sriram Nair commented on the company’s ambitious trajectory: “Bolstered by this recent funding, TFC plans to double its revenue by November 2023, capitalizing on its existing kitchen facilities.”

The substantial capital infusion will serve as a potent resource, facilitating TFC’s multifaceted expansion strategy. This includes fortifying its brand portfolio, investing in cutting-edge food technologies and product innovation, and amplifying the scale of its dedicated team.

Terra Food’s current brand spectrum encompasses a diverse array of culinary offerings, ranging from the savory delights of Aho Punjab, Hiit Meals, Jaani Maani Biryani, and Noodle Van to the enticing flavors of Papadum, Pickup Meals, Sushito, Terra Gourmet, and Zeus Burger.

As the financial year draws to a close, Terra Food is set to embark on a strategic quest for additional capital through a forthcoming Series A funding round. This strategic move is poised to propel TFC even further along its remarkable growth trajectory, solidifying its position as a trailblazer in the dynamic landscape of cloud kitchens.
