Swiggy Continues AI Experiments, Launches Photoshoot To Help Restaurants Create Better Menu Images

In a bid to revolutionize the visual appeal of restaurant menus, Swiggy, the leading foodtech giant, has recently rolled out Swiggy Photoshoot, an innovative AI-based feature embedded within the Swiggy Owner app. Launched approximately a month ago, the tool empowers restaurant owners to capture and upload menu images directly through their smartphones.

Swiggy Photoshoot employs advanced AI capabilities to validate, enhance, and refine restaurant menu images swiftly. The proprietary image AI model ensures compliance with guidelines, minimizing the likelihood of image rejections. Additionally, it elevates image quality and aesthetics, offering users the flexibility to choose backgrounds from a set of options.

This enhancement applies to both real-time images and existing ones uploaded by restaurant partners. The images captured through this feature become live on the Swiggy platform within a few hours. Swiggy asserts that the adoption of higher-quality images can potentially lead to up to five times more orders. Notably, approximately 10,000 restaurants have embraced this feature within a month of its launch.

According to Swiggy, this initiative aligns with its broader strategy to leverage AI and introduce features that enhance the experience for its restaurant partners. In July, the company unveiled several generative AI-based products, including a food recommendation tool. The ‘neural search’ feature, described as an AI chatbot, delivers personalized recommendations based on users’ open-ended and conversational queries.

While Swiggy is reportedly eyeing a public listing next year, the company has been actively diversifying its offerings and supporting restaurant partners. In September, it introduced the Learning Station, a digital learning academy aimed at fostering the growth of its restaurant partners. Additionally, the Network Expansion Insights dashboard, launched earlier, aids restaurant partners in making informed decisions about their expansion plans.

As the foodtech industry evolves, the integration of AI-driven solutions like Swiggy Photoshoot showcases Swiggy’s commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation and offering valuable tools to its vast network of restaurant partners.
