How DoorDash uses Analytics and Forecasting amid economic uncertainty!

04/02/2023

“Data is the key to unlocking the potential of our business. We are leveraging data to make better decisions and improve the quality of our platform.” – Jessica LachsDoorDash‘s Vice President of Analytics and Data Science.

At DoorDash, we are committed to using data to drive our business forward. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our analytics and forecasting capabilities to ensure that we are making the best decisions for our customers and our business.

We are tracking price indices on fixed and floating baselines to show the marketplace’s health from different points of view. We are also tracking against the U.S. consumer-price index monthly to understand if prices on our platform are increasing at an accelerated rate compared to overall prices in the economy.

We are also keeping an eye on the market, particularly inflation and consumer softening. We built the DoorDash item price index, which tracks and measures changes in the average item price on the platform weekly.

Our analytics team is helping to identify opportunities, provide intelligence, and estimate sizing based on years of data, enabling us to make better investment decisions and improve the quality of our platform.

“At DoorDash, we are focused on using data to make informed decisions and drive our business forward. We are committed to providing our customers with the best possible experience and the most accurate forecasts.” – Jessica Lachs, DoorDash‘s Vice President of Analytics and Data Science.
