Choice, Grubhub partner to bring food delivery to 500 hotels

Choice Hotels International is set to enhance its guest experience by collaborating with the popular food delivery platform Grubhub. This partnership will provide guests staying at Choice Hotels properties with convenient access to a specially branded ordering and delivery platform within the Grubhub app.

Notably, this collaboration goes beyond merely facilitating food orders. Guests who utilize Grubhub’s services while staying at Choice Hotels will receive an attractive perk: a complimentary one-month subscription to Grubhub+. Grubhub+ is the app’s loyalty program, offering customers free delivery on orders totaling $12 or more.

Julie Purser, Vice President of Loyalty Strategy and Membership Rewards at Choice Hotels, expressed the value of this collaboration for their guests. “Offering $0 delivery fees with Grubhub enriches the guest experience at these participating hotels as it provides logistical and financial ease to guests seeking food delivery,” she stated. She also hinted at Choice Hotels’ intention to expand its loyalty program further, with a focus on delivering additional benefits to Choice Privileges members.

Choice Hotels is joining a growing list of hotel companies that have embraced partnerships with online food delivery platforms. Hilton’s Homewood Suites brand, for instance, teamed up with Grubhub in June, granting guests at around 500 hotels access to off-site dining options. Similarly, Sonesta recently announced that guests at 120 of its Extended Stay Suites and Simply Suites locations would enjoy the convenience of Grubhub’s ordering and delivery services.

Other hotel giants have also ventured into collaborations with food delivery services. Wyndham Hotels & Resorts partnered with DoorDash, while Hyatt joined forces with food delivery company Gopuff in 2021, allowing hotel guests to access drinks, snacks, and groceries with ease.

These partnerships reflect the hospitality industry’s commitment to enhancing guest experiences and catering to the evolving preferences of travelers, particularly in the realm of food delivery and dining options.
